3. Submissions

The call for workshops and symposia was open from November 24, 2025, to January 23, 2026 and is now closed.

Workshops are reviewed for scientific merit by the Workshop Subcommittee. Based on assessments, the Subcommittee Chairs select the final workshops, considering scientific quality, expected demand, and past performance.

Symposia are reviewed by the Symposia Subcommittee using predefined criteria. The Subcommittee Chairs then select the final symposia and ensure topical and geographic diversity.
Submitters of rejected symposia are encouraged to have presenters submit individual abstracts.

The call for abstracts was open from January 19, 2026, to March 6, 2026 and is now closed.

However, there may be an opportunity for late abstracts. If this option becomes available, all details will be announced on the website at the end of May / beginning of June.

Abstracts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Criteria include scientific quality, innovation, significance and relevance.
The Oral Presentations Subcommittee selects oral presentations; non-selected abstracts are forwarded to the Poster Presentations Subcommittee.

If your abstract is not selected for an oral presentation slot, it will automatically be considered for poster presentation. There is no need to resubmit or take any further action.

No. Abstracts submitted for poster presentation are only considered for poster presentation and cannot be upgraded to an oral presentation.

All abstracts submitted for oral presentation are first evaluated for an oral slot, regardless of any award application.

If your abstract is accepted as an oral presentation, your application for the Best Poster Award will automatically be withdrawn.

If your abstract is not selected for an oral slot and is accepted as a poster, it will then be considered for the poster award competition.

The notifications of acceptance or rejection have been sent out on April 13.

The final decision regarding the presentation format for accepted abstracts will be communicated in late April / early May.

Please find all presentation formats explained here.
