Awards
ISEE is delighted to continue the societyâs traditional annual awards at the 2026 conference. The annual awards recognize significant contributions to the field by scientists across all career stages.
Additionally, ISEE is committed to supporting delegates with limited funds to travel to Munich and participate in the conference in order to benefit from its scientific program and networking opportunities.
Deadlines for submitting each award application are indicated in the sections below. Applications for awards are only possible for those who have submitted an abstract to the conference.

- All travel awards are strictly non-transferable to any other individual in any form.
- Each individual can only receive one travel award.
- As always awards will be given based on available funding.
Award applications must be submitted by March 16, 2026 (23:59 CET).
ISEE Travel Awards:
ISEE has two different travel awards which can cover conference-related expenses through the provision of:
- Â A conference registration fee waiver;
- Lodging for up to 5 nights, arranged and paid directly by
conference organizers; - Reasonable economy-class airfare to and from the conference host city*. Travel will be booked by a designated travel agency after the recipient obtains their visa. Layovers must be of reasonable length (ideally <24 hours) if direct flights are unavailable. The specific flight price cap by region can be found below.
ISEE Travel Awards are limited to current ISEE members. The applicant must be the presenter of their submitted abstract and participate in the conference in person. Exceptions may be made if the participant cannot travel due to extenuating circumstances.  ISEE volunteers and Student and New Researcher Network (SNRN) members are especially encouraged to apply.
*ISEE has price caps on flight fares for travel awards which are set by region. For this conference the caps are:
| Africa & Asia and Western Pacific: tba | Canada/Mexico: tba |
| Eastern Mediterranean: tba | Europe: tba |
| Latin America and the Caribbean: tba | USA: tba |
Dan Wartenberg Travel Awards:
This travel award was created in Dr. Dan Wartenberg’s memory to support conference attendees with projects involving communities and stakeholders in grappling with environmental or occupational health issues. Dan was widely recognized for his scholarship, but he found great satisfaction in working with community members and stakeholders in defining their goals and advising on approaches to attain them. Attendees with projects including participatory elements are especially welcome to apply.
The ISEE DEI Committee Conference Award is designed to support and recognize members of the ISEE community whose work, lived experience, or backgrounds reflect a commitment to advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility within environmental epidemiology.

Award coverage includes:
- One year of ISEE membership
- Full conference registration for the ISEE Annual Meeting

This award aims to lower barriers to participation and enrich the conference with a wider range of perspectives and voices.
All eligible presenters are encouraged to apply if their contributionsâwhether through research, mentorship, outreach, advocacy, or personal experienceâhelp foster a more inclusive and representative field.

- Must be willing to evaluate posters from your peers based on predefined criteria from the SNRN committee.
